Cosa aspettarsi

The production is celebrated for pioneering underwater photography in a feature. It turns the ocean from painted backdrop into a photographed environment while freely combining material from two Verne novels.

Come avvicinarsi al film

This is not a faithful adaptation of one book. Accept the merged plot and watch the undersea sequences as the film’s organising attraction: technology opens a world and also isolates Nemo inside it.

The camera enters the sea to prove that cinema can go anywhere, while Nemo uses technology to withdraw from almost everyone. I find that opposition more memorable than the machinery alone.
