Charles Reisner and Buster Keaton build character through physical mismatch before the cyclone converts an entire town into comic machinery. The effects and stunt design remain astonishing because space is always clear enough for risk and timing to register.

The father-son conflict supplies the emotional line beneath the gags. During the storm, watch the whole frame: walls, beds, façades, and Keaton often complete separate parts of the same joke.
