Was dich erwartet

The wide monochrome landscapes support a dry, affectionate view of family disappointment. Bruce Dern’s stubbornness and June Squibb’s sharpness keep sentiment from becoming soft focus.

Tipps für den Einstieg

The sweepstakes letter is a motive, not a mystery to solve. Watch what the trip allows father and son to learn—or choose not to say—about dignity.

I like that the journey cannot repair a whole life, yet one carefully staged moment can still return a little pride. The film makes room for that modest scale.
