Qué esperar
The planned reunion gives the romance a clear question: can a connection made on a voyage survive the return to ordinary commitments? Terry and Michel already have other relationships, so their promise carries consequences beyond attraction. McCarey gives you a specific place and an interval to hold in mind. Let that promise organise the story rather than asking every turn to offer an immediate resolution.
Cómo entrar en la película
Keep the shipboard meeting, the six-month wait and the New York rendezvous as three simple bearings. Notice how the promise changes what the pair expect from each other. You can approach it as an emotionally heightened romance without needing to know later versions of the story.
